Acquisition matching in the start-up phase

We invest a lot of time in the careful onboarding of our seller profiles even though our core business really begins after a profile is placed, namely the search for suitable buyers. After placement of the profile we start the matching process, which we do in many different ways. How we bring your profile to the attention depends on the package you have chosen. For our Basic Matching Package we put the profile out in our network and for the Promotion Package we also search for suitable buyers outside our network on the basis of a corresponding market research.

Momentum in the early days

In the first few days after posting, you can expect many buyer responses, the profile is new and we are actively promoting the profile. We see that this creates a natural momentum where in the first few days after posting, the profile is viewed and shared often. In other words, the new profile is singing around in the marketplace!

Optimizing the sales process in the first few weeks

It is common that in the first few days after posting the most responses come in and then the number decreases somewhat. As described earlier; upon placement there is a momentum created by our efforts which diminishes in the following weeks. This is very common but does not mean that the buyer must have been found in the first few weeks. We have hundreds of new buyers on the platform every day looking for their new business or investment. When the most suitable buyer shows up is not entirely within your or our control. What you do control is your contact with the buyers. We would like to share some tips to make the contact and the sales process as constructive and efficient as possible. 

What can you do to speed up the sales process?

Some important tips in contacting buyers:

  • Proactively send a message to buyers, this way you let buyers know you are open to questions and eager to get in touch
  • When contacting buyers via chat, feel free to suggest calling or meeting up, this way you will quickly get a good notion of whether the contact can be a successful match
  • Ask buyers who are not interested for feedback, so you get a good idea of how your business is perceived in the market and what might need adjustment

Sales process options after several months 

It may happen that after several months you have not found a suitable buyer and your profile has already sunk to the bottom of our listings. Understandably, you are looking at possible options to put the profile back in the spotlight.

What we can do to raise awareness of your profile again:

  • Highlight - your profile will be highlighted at the top of our offerings page for 2 weeks
  • Newsletter - your profile will be listed again in our newsletter
  • Upward placement - your profile can be moved up in the offer
  • Upgrade - if you have chosen the Basic Matching Package you can upgrade to the Promotional Package.

There is a cost associated with highlight and newsletter promotion. We use the following criteria for free upward placement:

  • The profile has been for sale in our offer for at least 3 months
  • You want to lower the price (at least 20% price reduction)
  • Something substantial has changed in your business that requires the listing to be adjusted in its entirety and therefore concerns a new proposition
